What does a CLA Designated Person do?
The CLA Designated Person in each Department or School oversees the scanning of extracts of printed materials for distribution to students in his/her Department or School. This means that he or she must authorise all such scanning. You can find information about this here: http://copyright.lboro.ac.uk/copyright/licences/cla-scanning/how-to-scan/#2.
The name of the Designated Person appears on the Copyright Notice accompanying each scanned extract that he or she authorises. You can find information about this here: http://copyright.lboro.ac.uk/copyright/licences/cla-scanning/how-to-scan/#3.7.
He or she must also collect the details of all of the scanning that he or she has authorised, and pass these details to the University Copyright Advisor before the deadline.
The deadline for the 2015/16 reporting period is Friday 31st May 2016. The information required can be found on the CLA’s scanning report spreadsheet.
